What is neurocomputing?

Neuro computing is a field of computing (processing, designing, problem solving etc. ) using the models that simulates (human) nerves system. The basic component of a human nerves system is neuron. Typically humans have millions and billions of neurons working in parallel, asynchronous and distributed fashion. Area such as artificial neural network facilitates models such Hopfield, Perceptron and Self-organizing map (SOM -Kohenon) ) and various learning algorithms in supervised and unsupervised manner. Using these models human like computing can be achieved to fulfill aim of embedding intelligence into machines such as computers/ microprocessor chips.
