∙ 8y ago127.0.1 is not a proper IP address. I think you meant 127.0.0.1. This is a special address for your host. Here is a quote from RFC 3330. "A datagram sent by a higher-level protocol to an address anywhere within this block loops back inside the host." This is a really cool address because if you have something running locally like a web server, you can access it using this address.
