Port 3389 is the only port you need to open. Windows will attempt to stream sound through User Datagram Protocol (UDP) first. If no port is available for UDP, sound will stream through a virtual channel in Remote Desktop Protocol, which uses port 3389. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/mobility/rdfaq.mspx

What is the bootp protocol used for?

BOOTP (Boot Protocol) may be used to boot remote computers over a network. All major Operating Systems, such as Mac OS X, IBM AIX, Solaris and HP, (excepting Windows) support BOOTP. The concept allows a 'diskless' system to avoid installing (and maintaining) the software on every desktop. The downside is network workload takes a big hit, even to paging over the network. This then requires more BOOTP servers and fewer systems on each subnet.

What program hides in a computer and allows someone from a remote location take full control of the computer?

Software that clandestinely resides on a computer, granting remote access and control to an external entity, is known as a "Remote Access Trojan" (RAT). Unlike legitimate remote desktop programs, RATs operate without the user's knowledge or consent. They are often used for nefarious purposes such as data theft, surveillance, or unauthorized system manipulation. Caution is advised when downloading files or clicking on suspicious links to avoid inadvertently installing such software. To encapsulate, a Remote Access Trojan is a covert program that poses significant security risks, and one should employ robust cybersecurity measures to guard against it.

How do you remote a Linux system to a Linux system over the internet using Remote Desktop in Linux?

There are several ways to do this. Some distributions of Linux, like Ubuntu, have remote desktop capabilities built-in (in the Applications/Internet and System/Preferences menus, Remote Desktop Viewer and Remote Desktop, respectively). There are other ways, such as VNC, TurboVNC, and my personal favorite, NX server. If you use FreeNX and an NX client, like NoMachine's, you can get instant speed access to your Linux machine remotely from Windows, OS X (Universal), and any Linux distribution, since they have multiple-architecture source code. FreeNX has a repository, and NoMachine's website provides a client. If you're interested in running 3d applications remotely, look into VirtuaGL, which works with both TurboVNC and FreeNX. Another option for local use is LTSP.

Is Which softwareusetoremot computer?

There are many types and brands of remote control software for computers. Some require that someone at the remote computer ask for help, possibly by sending or downloading a file. Others are installed on the remote computer and wait until an authorized person connects to the remote computer and takes control. Many Windows computers have a feature called "Remote Desktop" built in as part of the operating system that will allow authorized users to take over the computer remotely, almost as if they are sitting in front of the screen. For those unable or unwilling to use Remote Desktop, a very popular solution is UltraVNC.(www.ultravnc.com ) UVNC is a versatile program that supports desktop interaction as well as remote control. This means the person in control can choose for both people to work together solving problems or learning new things; or if necessary they can blank the screen remotely and lock the keyboard and mouse. UVNC supports file transfers, chat, encrypted connections, and even works through many NAT configurations. Best of all it's both free and open source.
