If you're not even getting the normal startup information about the bios, and you're not getting any "beep codes" during the "power on self test" (POST) then there is a problem with the motherboard.
Okay... I have this problem with my HP 2000 computer. someone told me to take my computer apart. someone else told me to get a different brand.<recommended:) But I heard that it was because something might be stuck in the display section of the computer..Like a piece of dust. Because HP built the computer funny even a tiny spec of dust can cause this problem...Upset as I was at the fact that HP could build something so temper mental I decided to do something silly....really silly...While the computer was on I opened the screen all the way and blew into the place where the fan lets the air out....really hard(no spittingXP) and it restarted the fan..I did it three times and it worked.(keep doing it till it works) It may be temporary but it's alot better then chucking the computer out or taking it apart. If it doesn't work for you then sorry. Just thought id share
Darksyde: Simultaneously press CONTROL-ALT and the UP or DOWN arrow (RT and LT turns it sideways) - this does not work on all computer screens, though. Etharoo: You can do that which is easier but i just lift the screen and then turn it!
To change a computer's screen from vertical to horizontal, one must right click on their computer's background image, then select setting from the menu that pop up. In most computers, there is an option to choose whether or not the screen is horizontal or vertical.
Disable the screen saver and power options on the computer to never turn off hard disk, never go in system standby and never hibernate.
It will usually tell you. Like if you turn it of it will say installing automatic updates. (B.T.W. I am using a Windows XP computer right now)
This is to load windows up. It is basically CMD in full screen. To see CMD in mini version click start - run and type CMD.exe
If your computer screen goes black, the first thing to try is to turn your computer off, and then turn it on again. This allows the computer to re-boot.
at the computer
OK so you see a screen and there is a keyboard in front of it that is a COMPUTER! You turn on the screen and you got on a computer!
Is your computer screen plugged in? Make sure your computer screen is properly connected to your computer.
you restart the computer then turn it on again
turn down the brightness all the way until the screen goes black in the process of restarting so it looks like it won't turn on.
Black is dead, or corrupted. Hint: try to fix it, and if it doesn't work, take it to a expert. If he can't fix it, well, you can keep it and hope that it works one day, or get a new computer

You simply go to Paint and click on the fill tool and select the color black. Then fill in the whole screen black. It's not the best mirror but it'll do.
