What is the future of computers according to Bill Gates?

Computers have come a long way in the last 50 years. In 1963, computers weighed hundreds of pounds and were the size of refrigerators. They were slow, cumbersome and cost so much that only big businesses and the U.S. government could afford them.Today, computers are everywhere -- on our desks, in our laps and in our pockets. Computers play games and movies. They connect us through sight, sound and text while providing us instant access to virtually the sum total knowledge of all mankind. And they're so cheap they're now found in almost every home in America. But this is just the beginning. As amazing as the last half-century has been, experts tell us that computer technology is still only in its awkward adolescence. What can we expect from computers in the years ahead? Predictions include:Wearable Computers. Google is already developing computer-enabled eye wear called "Google Glass" that will allow you to access the Internet via voice commands. [1] Apple is reportedly working on a computer you wear like a wristwatch. [2]Computers on a Chip. David Patterson, professor of computer science at University of California, Berkley, predicts that by 2020, all computer components will be able to fit on a single microchip. [3]A Cure for Cancer. Patterson also predicts that computer-driven advances in genetic sequencing and nanotechnology (microscopic robots built one atom at a time) will allow us to successfully cure most cancers on a patient-by-patient basis within 10 to 15 years.Thought-Driven Computers. Apps like Google can already be accessed via voice commands. But experts tell us that, in the not-too-distant future, we'll be communicating with our computers via pure thought. We already have prosthetic -- artificial limbs -- that can be controlled this way.Quantum Computers. The limits to which microchips can be miniaturized are expected to be reached by the middle of this decade. After that, computer engineers will start working in the Alice in Wonderland-like sphere of subatomic -- or quantum -- physics. The math gets a lot trickier here, but if what scientists are telling us is true, the entire civilized world will be one giant, interactive, thought-controlled computer network by mid-century. [5]The Singularity. "The Singularity" is the theoretical point at which human intelligence and artificial intelligence become equal. Our leading futurists argue about the year in which this event is likely to take place, but most agree it will occur sometime between 2030 and 2050. What happens after that? No one can say for sure. But we're told there will be an "intelligence explosion" that will make today's computers -- and the benefits they provide -- look like stone hammers. [6]Join the Tech Revolution with a Computer Information Science Degree from Everest University OnlineYou don't have to be a full-on computer geek to be part of today's technological revolution. Getting a degree in Computer Information Science can make you part of the movement, as well as open a wide range of career opportunities.Everest University Online, a division of Everest University, offers both associate and bachelor's online degree programs in Computer Information Science. Both computer degree programs can teach you valuable, marketable skills in such specialties as programming concepts, networking fundamentals and analysis. You'll also get hands-on training in word processing, spreadsheets, software development and graphic design.Online learning has many advantages. There's no commuting involved. You can take your classes (and tests) from home or any other location with a broadband Internet connection. Your schedule is your own, allowing you to hold a full-time job or attend to family obligations at the same time you're working for your degree. And you'll be able to interact with instructors and fellow students via a variety of online communications, including real-time video.

Difference between ou and group in domain?

In Windows 2000 and AD, groups have the same function that they have in Windows NT or other OSs: You put a user in a group to control that user's access to resources. You put a user in an OU to control who has administrative authority over that user. To understand the difference between groups and OUs, consider this: Objects with SIDs (i.e., users, groups, and computers) can act on objects and be granted authority. Groups have a SID, and OUs don't. For example, in Figure 1, Harry is a member of the Human Resources group and is contained in the Human Resources OU. The Human Resources group has Change access to the HRData folder. Therefore, Harry has Change access to HRData because he's a member of the Human Resources group. The Human Resources OU ACL grants Alice, the departmental administrator, Full Control of user objects, which means that Alice can administer Harry's user account because it's in the Human Resources OU. An analogy might help you understand OUs. OUs are to AD as folders are to a file server. You no doubt know that each file on a file server has its own ACL but that, by default, files inherit the same permissions their parent folders have. Administrators believe best practice is to avoid maintaining file access on individual file ACLs and to instead use folder-level ACLs to manage access in the same way for all the files in the folder. In AD, like files on a file server, each user and group object has its own ACL that governs not what that user or group can access but who can view or edit that user's or group object's properties. In AD, because users and groups have ACLs, you can delegate portions of administrative authority to subadministrators. But, just as separately maintaining the ACL of every file is impractical, so is separately controlling administrative authority on each user or group object. Therefore, you can collect into an OU all the users and groups that you want to enable a particular subadministrator to manage, then grant the proper authority over the OU to that subadministrator. Permissions you define in an OU's ACL flow down to all the users and groups in that OU, just as folder ACLs flow down to all the files in a folder. To help you keep OUs and groups straight, remember that a user can be a member of many groups but can reside in only one OU, just as a file can reside in only one folder.
