Data can be placed in a multitude of locations in a computer, but most often it is placed in the hard drive. However, if a computer has a CD/DVD burner, a floppy disc drive, or a USB thumb drive, then data could be placed on those locations as well, but installed programs typically do not reside on any kind of removable storage device like CD/DVDs, floppy discs, or USB thumb drives. There is no way to permanently store data on a computer on most storage drives since many can be erased by the user, with the only exception being certain types of CDs and DVDs which can write data on a particular section of the disc once.
You could use a USB (Universal Serial Bus) flash drive, or 'thumb drive,' as most modern computers have usb ports, meaning you can plug it in. Or (if you are connected to the internet you could email it or upload it to an online storage site, such as google drive or drop box)
Plug in the thumb drive and copy the info onto the computer. Then go flush the thumb drive.
