Buttons and pointer options
I am assuming your are reffering to a mouse double click as the default action. If so then you need to go into your control panel from start button and find and click on the mouse icon in the list (alt click if need be) then depending on the type of mouse your using it will have a list of things that can be personalized. Generally on the first page there will be a double click speed setting, with this you can change the speed between clicks if set to high you wont be able to double click fast enough for it to see. So odds are you need to slow down the speed so that it gives you more time to double click your mouse. Hope this helps you )

A computer mouse.
Double-clicking means to click a mouse button twice in succession. Usually, it is the left button that is double-clicked. A single click is often used to highlight an icon, while a double-click opens it.
Pressing the mousepad with two fingers at a time will right-click, not double click. Double clicking on an Apple computer (whether with a mousepad, or mouse) is the same as any other computer. You just double click.
A single click on an Apple Macintosh computer consists of one up and down motion on a mouse. A double-click would consist of two consecutive single clicks with no or very little time between the clicks. (It is important to note that the speed of the "double-click" can be adjusted as long as a mouse is connected to the computer.) Also, usually, a single click selects an object or icon. A double-click usually opens or launches an application or document. (This is the case when your computer is in the "Finder." You can tell you are in the "Finder" when you see the word next to the Apple icon in top left corner of your monitor/screen.) All this can become confusing due to some "directions" telling the user to "click and hold." The "click and hold" means to move the mouse arrow over the object, click down on the mouse but do not finish "clicking" by letting go for the up motion of a full click, it is essentially a "half-click." This action usually causes the mouse arrow to "grab" or "hold" the object or icon.
Double click most commonly refers to using a mouse or a touch pad on your computer. You are required to click twice to select a live link on your computer. Double click can also refer to morse code, using a system of clicks to communicate. Double click can also just refer to a sound that you make with your tongue or finger snapping.
Buttons are referred to as what when they react to mouse clicks. Another regular action you will perform using the mouse consists of pressing one of its button twice, very fast. This action is referred to as Double-Click.

Answeryes. we can do.if you want to change the function of right click as left click and left click as a right click. yes you can do . go on control panel > mouse> here you can change the property of mouse. you could make right click as a left click and left click as a right click.does the change occur within the mouse (the signal transmitted by the mouse) or does the change occur within the computer (how it reacts to the signal transmitted by the mouse)? I assume the change occurs within the computer, unless the mouse has a built in receiver and can react to instructions from the computer.
Under Control Panel, look for the Mouse under Hardware. You can adjust the double click speed to suit your mouse finger.
A double click can be defined as the action of pressing a button twice on a pointing device. This would be in reference to a computer mouse. This term can also be used in reference to many other things.
First of all, you are the one who double clicks your mouse. If you are talking about why the mouse makes two clicking sounds when you click it once, that is because it makes one click sound when you depress the mouse button, and it makes another when you lift it up again.
