Toshiba makes the best laptops. I would highly recommend a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092. I got mine from Best Buy, and you should to. The Geek Squad is always there to help you when you need them.

Toshiba do not make the best laptop. Each manufacturer has their own good / bad things about them. IMO toshiba, are good value for money, but not the best. There is a heap of manufacturers, ie Acer, Advent, IBM, HP...

If its laptops, then Alienware / Sony are the best regarding spec.

PC's, best quality specification again Alienware / Voodoo.

But there is nothing wrong with going to your local PC builder, and ask them for advice, as to what you want to be able to do, and get them to build one to your specification. Any good quality PC builder, would be happy to do this for you. That way, you get what you want, instead of purchasing one off the shelf, with addon's you may not need. IE why have a 800GTS graphics card, costing $600, (£300), when you will only be using the PC for simple Surfing, or writing letters etc.
