Compressed file means files with rar/zip extension .There are some reasons for compressing files. Compressed files can not be affected by virus. It can save disc space. You can use it if you want to back up some folders/files.

How do the encodings differ from run-length encodings, and in what ways are they similar?

Encodings differ from run-length encodings in that they use different methods to compress data. Encodings typically use algorithms to reduce the size of data, while run-length encodings specifically identify and compress consecutive repeated values. However, both types of encoding aim to reduce the amount of data needed to represent information efficiently.

What is difference between symmetric and asymmetric compression?

symmetric compressionA data compression technique that takes about the same amount of time to compress as it does to decompress.asymmetric compressionA data compression technique that typically takes more time to compress than it does to decompress. Some asymmetric compression methods take longer to decompress, which would be suited for backup files that are constantly being compressed and rarely decompressed.

What is a data dictionary in software engineering?

Data dictionary is a set of meta-data which contains the definition and representation of data elements. It gives a single point of reference of data repository of an organization.Data dictionary lists all data elements but does not say anything about relationships between data elements.

What is the role of a CODEC?

CODEC stands for Compression Decompression module. Codecs can be programs or devices and they compress data to send and receive data that is then decompressed.

Why do you need to compress data?

this is done to reduce the amount of space it takes to save the data werever the data is stored and also makes it better to send through the internet if the files are large.

How you will manage a large data in a small hard disk available to you?

Compress the data using an archiver such as 7-Zip, or use an online backup service for files you use less often.

How do you spell compress and compress?

How does entropy affect compression rate?

General compression techniques look for repeated patterns which can be compressed to a single iteration of the pattern. A data stream with high entropy will have relatively few repeated patterns, and will decrease the compression ratio.

Is there an app which adds more storage to your iPad 2?

Such an Application would be Impossible! The memory of the iPad is segmented, so that even an app could compress memory, it could only compress the memory inside the area of its own app. It cannot affect other apps or data.
