The spiral model is called a meta model since it encompasses all other life cycle
models. Risk handling is inherently built into this model. The spiral model is
suitable for development of technically challenging software products that are
prone to several kinds of risks. However, this model is much more complex than
the other models - this is probably a factor deterring its use in ordinary projects.

Spiral Model is called meta model because it is composed of several other models. For example a single loop spiral actually represent the Waterfall Model. The spiral model uses prototyping approach before embarking on the actual product development effort. Also the spiral model can be considered as supporting the evolutionary model-the iterations along the spiral can be considered as evolutionary levels through which the complete system is built. This enables the developer to understand and resolve the risks at each evolutionary level. The spiral model uses prototyping as a risk reduction mechanism and also retain the systematic step approach of waterfall model.(Courtsey-Rajiv mall)
Spiral model is often called meta model since it comprises of all other models. In addition to that,it also analyses the risk factor associated to it.
yes. correct
spiral model is just like incremental model but in spiral emphasize is on risk analysis.
Data about data are called metadata. See the related question "What are metadata?" for more details.
I will try to answer this quickly as I don't have much time. As the name suggests, the waterfall model follows the path of an waterfall. It starts in the first stage of orientation, and ends at the release. It can only go one way (to the end goal) and the stages are very strict (you cant go back to a earlier stage). The Spiral model understands that reality doesn't always follow theory, and that an project should be designed to follow that reality. There are multiple prototypes released, and phases can be repeated until the desired result is reached (hence the spiral). The iterative model combines those two, making (IMHO) the waterfall model more ready for the real world. You should try googling yourself, I found lots of info about the differences in this article about the advantages of the waterfall model: http://www.waterfall-model.com/the-waterfall-model-avantages-and-disadvantages
Data dictionary is a set of meta-data which contains the definition and representation of data elements. It gives a single point of reference of data repository of an organization.Data dictionary lists all data elements but does not say anything about relationships between data elements.
Yes it is possible to combine process models. It is the spiral process model. This model of development combines the features of the prototyping model and the waterfall model Let us consider the case study of the baggage-handling system at the Denver International Airport (DIA) again. Initially, DIA had intended that each individual airline would be responsible for building its own baggage-handling system. However, as the construction of the airport progressed, a larger vision emerged for the inclusion of an airport-wide integrated baggage-handling system that could provide a major improvement in the efficiency of luggage delivery and no one gave any thought to risk assessment. The essential concept of the Spiral Model is to minimize risks by the repeated use of prototypes and other means. Unlike other models, at every stage risk analysis is performed. The Spiral Model works by building progressively more complete versions of the software by starting at the center of the spiral and working outwards.

The win-win spiral approach is very similar to the spiral model in that it is simply an extension of the spiral model. In the win-win model approach, everyone discusses things together to figure out what should go into the new version of the software.
explain spiral model in sdlc
spiral model is iterative model hence its easy to implement it .
because, there can be back process of every step in waterfall model, see the book of software engg by somerville.
prototype model is suitable when user requirement are not very clear, while spiral model suitable for large projects whether customer requirement are not known in the beginning
In spiral model the main emphasis is on the management to evaluate and resolve risks in the software project. There is no maintenance phase in spiral model because instead risk is evaluated .
