No.
Your computer erases the RAM when it is shut down.
DDR RAM is the slowest type of RAM and can cause the computer to run slower
Computer Term "RAM" Stands For 'Random Access Memory'.
No, it is not possible to add unlimited RAM to any computer. Each computer has a maximum amount of RAM it can support, determined by its hardware limitations.

It's self-formatting. Install it and go.

Your motherboard will only run at the slowest speed of RAM you have installed, so installing faster RAM will have no effect speed-wise.

RAM speed is how fast your computer goes. The more RAM, the faster your computer.
RAM ( random access memory)
The amount of RAM depends on the computer.
RAM is the computer's 'volatile' memory. Data is rapidly transferred in and out of the RAM (Random Access Memory) all the time. When the computer is switched off, the RAM is empty.Insufficient RAM capacity makes the computer run slower. Keyboard instructions take longer to have effect. Sometimes the screen freezes if things are getting really bad. More RAM, the easier and quicker it is for data to be processed by the PC.If the RAM gets temporarily full with data being processed, the system has to take alternative action, maybe by using unused space on your hard drive. All this takes extra time. It is better to have sufficient RAM in the first place. Many computers now have at least 2 GB of RAM, but with software, especially graphics packages, becoming more and more sophisticated, 4GB of RAM will soon become the norm.Find out how much RAM your PC has, and, if necessary, you can purchase RAM which can be slotted into your computer. It may not be too expensive. Enquire at a computer shop. Take your computer with you, if you can. It will help them determine the best type of RAM for your machine.
(example: my School PC is the slower computer (we are formatting my HDD on there) i go home and put that Formatted HDD into my faster computer) my teacher said that it will effect how my OS runs since it was installed on a slower computer. Is that true? --- Improved answer by gbaughma --- Well, first of all, if you install an OS on a hard drive, then pull that hard drive out and put it in another computer, it probably will not boot and run properly. Part of the OS installation (on today's operating systems) is determining what hardware is installed and installing the drivers for that hardware. Pulling the hard drive out and putting it in another computer would confuse the OS, and it would probably blue-screen on you. Meanwhile... just formatting a hard drive on one computer and moving it to another computer will not effect the speed of the new computer. ** Caveat to this statement *** On older systems, where interleave was calculated when formatting the hard drives, taking that drive out and putting it in a computer that could handle a smaller interleave would cause a performance issue. However, that is not the case any more, since IDE (Internal Drive Electronics) and SATA drives handle all of that onboard now, and it's not handled by the computer and external hard drive controller any more. Anyway... long story short... your teacher is incorrect. Formatting a hard drive on a "slower" computer and putting that hard drive in a faster computer will not affect the performance. --gbaughma A+ Instructor (among a bunch of other certifications)
Yes, formatting a computer hard drive will delete the operating system.
