The phrase "cloud computing" is still a buzzword, driving people to syncrhonize their devices, however, as the concept ages, the phrase will drop away and simply be thought of as computing. As the hype falls away, fit and function will become more important in cloud computing needs. Security will be improved, with identities managed in individuals clouds. Why are books made from paper?

Paper has proven to have long-lasting qualities that other printing materials. Before paper was produced, egyptians used a paper-type papayrus but later discovered that it degrades quickly over time. The lack of sodium nitrate and mesolorite compounds in papayrus cause the ink to fade and the material begins to develop cracks. Before today's paper was utilized, cloth, canvas, leaves, animal hydes and petrified mammoth bone were used. Paper was first invented by Matias Gutierez III from Madrid Spain in 1089 a.d. He was cutting down a birch tree when the bark peeled off and resembled a scroll. He then invented the world's first steam press and became the first mass-producer of what we know today as paper.

What is an amplifier and what type of transmission signals does it affect?

An amplifier is a device that increases the strength of a signal. There are many, many different kinds of amplifiers, making many kinds of signals stronger. A stereo amplifier takes the tiny signal coming off of a music device, such as a radio tuner or an iPod, and amplifies it until it is powerful enough to cause the stereo speakers to make noise. A megaphone is just a cone with a hole in the tip that you can hold in front of your mouth, but it amplifies the sound waves coming from your vocal cords. Cable TV companies put amplifiers into their cable networks that amplify the TV signal, so that it doesn't fade away into static before it reaches your TV. In computer networking, we usually call them "repeaters". A repeater takes a packet that's travelled about as far as it can before it turns into static, amplifies it so it can be properly read, then makes a new copy and sends it down the next section of wire. What happens to fiberglass when it gets old?

Generally not much. The glass fiber is inert to most normal things - water, salt, UV radiation, oils, fuels, moderate acids and alkalies. Different resins are used to bond the glass fibers together, but they usually have good resistance to all of the above except UV radiation. This is why fiberglass structures usually have a gellcoat or painted surface to protect it from the sunshine. With long-term sun exposure, gellcoats and paints will fade or chalk. This is an appearance issue and doesn't harm or change the fiberglass underneath. The two most common resins used with fiberglass are polyester resins and true epoxies. Fiberglass made with polyester resins can form blisters when it is in continuous contact with water for long periods of time (years). Osmosis causes the water to soak in between the layers of fiberglass. Since polyester resin is cheaper than epoxy, it is commonly used in consumer products like boats. It is common for older boats that have been kept in the water for years to develop blisters below the waterline. The blisters don't really seem to cause any problems, but boat owners hate them and will sometimes pay thousands of dollars to have the outer layer of the hull striped off and replaced. Epoxy resins don't generally have this problem.

Is Cloud Computing A Trend?

There is certainly a cloud computing trend going on right now, but this is just because the technology is new. It is a trend because no one could use it before. In the future, this will just be the way that people store and share information. Saying it is nothing but a trend is like saying that computers are a trend that will fade out. They are here to stay, and so is cloud computing.
