Are laptops good for school work?

yes it is because if you don't understand something than instead of bothering the class you can look up the word. I t is also good fro research papers so you don't turn it in late and the class can get done more in class.

I recommend the Dell INSPIRON laptops. I currently own a Dell 14R INSPIRON and I love it. It's lightweight so you can carry around school and it works great. I got mine from best buy at a very reasonable price of $499.99.

Having laptops at school may be a beneficial item for students to carry around. laptops will allow student to carry only one thing (the laptop) rather than many book and can also cut out the cost of having extra desktop computers in every classroom which many private schools have currently. The problem with allowing students to have laptops is that without proper security and blocking software (that the school should provide/install) the students may play games and go on inappropriate/illegal sites during class time. If you were to get laptops with adequate filtering/security software they may be very beneficial to the learning curriculum, although expensive. It depends on what the schools budget to learning ratio is and what the schools SRC, principal/s and leaders decide and this will vary from school to school. Governments such as the Australian government have issued laptops to certain Public schools.

Important things to consider are your price point, screen size, and exactly what games you will be playing on it.

Simple games on Facebook or on other websites don't require a super-duper computer, but games like Battlefield and Call of Duty do require a faster computer. Both of these can be considered "gaming".

It depends on what you are using for work. Most software that you typically use for work has either the same or equivalent version in a Chromebook. Google Docs (and Drive) can read and edit to a degree Microsoft Office files. With the recent acquisition of QuickOffice by Google, which you can use to read and edit Office files, that office suite is also integrated into Chrome OS (and Android OS).
