Speaking as a professional who has seen spills on laptops and desktops from clients over the course of my career, I would say that the likelihood is minimal. If the liquid were corrosive, then there is a chance that the residue from the dried liquid would have continued to cause damage over time but that is not common in household or most office settings. Most likely, the failure you have experienced so longer after the liquid spillage is related to another root cause such as a power spike, failure of a capacitor, etc. If you want to determine what has failed and potentially get a reason for its failure, take the bad hardware to a professional computer repair shop and have them inspect it. If you are in the northeast Kansas area, feel free to drop me a line and I will be glad to accomplish this for you at no charge,
The damage that cannot be repaired in a Liquid Fertilizer Spill would be, you cannot fix the habitat of a home, in the water/lake, and you cannot repair your night with your mom.
Yes
Covering the spill with dirt or cat litter will make a gasoline spill inert. The liquid is not explosive, but the fumes are, so absorbing the liquid will decrease the volatility.
No any water or liquid that gets in between the keys could damage the internal parts permanently.
Oil spill did a lot of damage, but no homes were destroyed.
There are many different types of covers for your computer that would help to prevent damage against liquid. A cover for your keyboard usually is efficient.
Not really, the starter has an enclosed casing. Only if the spill is on the wiring and shorts it out.
Spill berms are used to contain spills, such as hazardous waste. A flexible spill berm lays flat on the ground and as the liquid fills the spill berm, the walls rise up and contain it.

Mash until it's almost liquid, then pour?
All oil spills are bad. I think the real question is how bad is this spill for the environment. The Lower Marine Riser Package (LMRP) was installed June 3rd as has begun collecting some of the spilling oil. The cap has not been fully tested underwater, so it is thought that some oil is still leaking from the spill. Early reports of the spill going into the loop current and causing environmental damage in South Florida's coral reefs, has not occurred as of May 26th. The latest reports is the environmental damage is primarily in marshes of Louisiana. A full evaluation of the damage is only possible months after a spill has been cleaned up as well as possible.
