English keyboards can easily type Japanese. You simply need the IME (Windows); then, typing in Japanese is just a matter of typing in Romaji. The words are automatically converted to Kanji, or chosen from a list when more than one matches.
On a Japanese keyboard, the "@" symbol is typically accessed by pressing the "Alt" key in combination with the "Q" key. This key combination is commonly used to input special characters on Japanese keyboards. The "@" symbol is essential for creating email addresses and is located in a different position compared to English keyboards.
Obviously your keyboard is the thing that is set to the wrong language. If you have a foreign keyboard and you don't have the Windows font for it(i.e. a Korean or Japanese one), CS:S won't know what the heck you are typing.
Right click on the EN sign and press settings. After that, press 'add' and choose Japanese.
this is a funny question. How can we answer it if we cannot type Japanese characters on our keyboard? but still, it could be possible...
The '~ #' key is between (diagonally speaking) the enter key and the right shift key on an English keyboard.
"Green" in Japanese is "midori." I don't have my keyboard set to Japanese characters, so I can't spell it in Hiragana or Kanji right now.
Well, if you have a keyboard with Japanese characters, this is very easy. But, since you're asking this question, you obviously don't. You could try this website: http://www.gate2home.com/?language=ja just type in the word/sentence (make sure it is the Japanese word, not the English one.) It will automatically change it to Japanese characters for you.
The French type of keyboard is called "azerty" (vs the English "qwerty"). Link goes to image of the layout of the azerty keyboard.
Windows 7 supports Japanese input just as much as previous versions of Windows. To enable the Japanese IME, go to Control Panel>Regional and Language Options>Keyboard and Language>Keyboard Options, there you should be able to add any keyboard input layout you wish.
