That is not as simple to answer as you may think. There are a huge amount of complicated formulas, so there is no problem in just showing one. Writing one by itself will not really show Excel's capabilities, as you would have to see the whole spreadsheet to understand what it is doing. Here is a formula that works out commission based on sales achieved:

Showing it just like that doesn't really help you without seeing what the spreadsheet I took it from does and the values in it and other formulas. I could show you far more complex formulas than that one, but they mean nothing without their context.
Excel can do very complex things, but you have to see an entire spreadsheet rather than an individual formula to properly demonstrate that.
