There are some websites which have Windows XP available for download but these are illegal sites. The only way to obtain Windows XP legally is to acquire (buy) a copy from Microsoft. The illegal download one does get from such a site is a mirror of the legal CD, and would first need to be burned to a CD, then installed from the CD. Once that happened, the buyer would still need to have a unique product code in order to make the program work.
