Built in camera means that a computer (or other device) has a camera built in to it's body. On a Mac for example the camera is located in the centre above the screen. The camera can be used for video chatting/conferencing, or taking pictures with PhotoBooth etc.
Macs have come with built-in cameras for many years. Most USB webcams can be used with older Macs that do not have a built-in camera but do have a USB port.
There's no such thing as a special camera just for color film. You can go to a classic-camera dealer, buy a Leica I that was built before there even was color film, and shoot color film in it.
It switches on automatically when the Photobooth or iChat apps are opened.
The Mac's built in web cam is controlled by software so launching PhotoBooth, iChat, FaceTime or iMovie, all of which come with a Mac, will activate the camera. There are numerous other applications, such as Skype, Messenger etc., that will use the camera.
Yes. The new Macbook Air does have a frontward facing FaceTime camera.
i-Type film is specifically designed for use with Polaroid's i-Type cameras, which do not have a built-in battery like the older 600 series cameras. i-Type film has a built-in battery to power the camera, while 600 film requires a battery in the camera to function.
Run the application Photobooth (in the applications folder) if you can see yourself there is a camera built into your Mac (all the recent versions of the Mac will have a camera). if you cannot see yourself, or you do not have Photobooth, then you do not have a built in camera but you may have an external camera which will be obvious and will need to be plugged into your Mac for it to work.
The main difference between the film used in an i-type camera and a 600 film camera is the development process. i-type film is designed to be used with Polaroid's newer instant cameras that have built-in batteries and do not require a separate battery in the film pack. On the other hand, 600 film is compatible with older Polaroid cameras that require a battery in the film pack for the camera to function.
The Mac's built in camera will be used with any software that requires a camera. With a standard Mac the Applications folder will contain PhotoBooth, iMovie and iChat all of which will use the camera. You can add Apple's free FaceTime to chat with other Mac and/or iPhone users or some of the numerous other software titles (such as iStopMotion and EvoCam) that can also make use the camera. (See links below)
The MacBook Air has a built in iSight camera. To add another camera you would need to specify what you wanted to achieve that you could not with the iSight.
Most digital camera's come with a USB cable that plugs into the Mac and the camera. Once the camera is connected it is usually (with most brands of camera) recognised by the Mac and you use either the iPhoto or Image Capture applications (or any other suitable application you may have installed) to download the images from the camera to the Mac.To use the built in iSight camera you need to run an application that can make use of the camera. These include (in the Applications folder) PhotoBooth, iChat and iMovie.
