That's what I do, and it runs fine. You just need a laptop with good specs.

But FlightGear will run fine on most laptops. Even with an Intel GMA it will run, just don't expect good framerates on the ground.

I recommend using a laptop with a good GPU, preferably one with an ATI Radeon or Nvidia GeForce.
