Macs can be connected in at least two ways.
1. If they both have FireWire, you connect with a cable. Turn both machines off. Connect them. Turn on the Mac you want to run. After it starts up, press and hold the T key and turn on the other Mac. It will act like a hard drive. When done, eject the FireWired Mac and turn it off. Take out the cable. Now you can turn the Mini back on and use as a computer. When they are connected, you can copy files both ways.
2. If they both have WiFi. Turn on Sharing in both computers. Turn on WiFi. The WiFi access will appear in the left side of the Finder Panel, or in the Networked Icon under the Disk List.
