window permissionGenerally no, you don't need a permit from the planning authority - unless you live in a listed building as they can be pretty picky about maintaining the style of the windows if they're traditional sash windows for example. Usually u need permission from your Home Owners Association (hopefully u don't have anyone telling u what you can and can't do) to change out your windows though.

Do need planning permission for a drive?

Whether you need planning permission for a driveway depends on several factors, including its size, location, and the materials used. In many cases, if the driveway is made of permeable materials and does not exceed a certain size, planning permission may not be required. However, if you're planning to create a hard surface that could affect drainage or if you live in a conservation area, you may need to apply for permission. It's always best to check with your local planning authority for specific regulations.

Who do you see about requesting planning permission to build an extension on your house?

You will need to speak to your loacal council. I would put your ideas down in a letter, including dimensions, positioning of the extension etc...(a rough sketch will do). The local council will then check to see if you need planning permission- you may not even need it.
