If your asking about them being the smallest capacity of any type of storage median for computers, then yes and no.

They really are the smallest "Modern" storage medium for computers.

But during the 1980's systems like the Commodore PET and 64 used cassette tapes to store data. Those held about 32KB.

What type of storage device holds the LEAST amount of information?

The storage device that stores the least amount of information is a floppy disk which only has a average storage space of 1mb

Which has the least amount of storage space a floppy disk or zip disk?

Floppy disks have only 1.44 MB of storage space. ZIP disks have upwards of 100MB of storage space and are much more resistant to magnetic damage at the same time. However, due to cost-effectiveness, neither are especially well-regarded for consumer use anymore. CDs and DVDs are inexpensive and for the same price will hold on average an order of magnitude more data. The only advantage of a floppy disk, is its ability to boot. As far as storage, floppy disks are obsolete. Not even a Word document with enough attachments can fit on one. Most computers can boot directly off the CD ROM. Newer PC's can boot off a USB Key. But when all else fails, the floppy is always there to save the day when you've crashed your system, and need to boot to reformat/reinstall windows.

What is the smallest amount of storage CD hard drive floppy disc or ram?

In order of least to most, the storage capacities are:floppy disk, CD, RAM, hard drive.3.5" HD floppy disks normally have a capacity of 1.44 megabytes. Older disks had less.CD's used for data storage have a data capacity of about 700 to 900 MB, depending on the type. Most computers now have a few GB of capacity in RAM.Typical hard drives now have capacities of hundreds of GB - although terabyte drives are now available too.Notes:Some computers (especially older ones) have very limited ram and may actually have less storage capacity than a floppy disk, but most of them currently have much more. When CD's were first introduced, they had more capacity than computer hard drives common at the time. The reverse is now true.A single-layer DVD-ROM can hold 4.7 GB of error-protected data, more than 6 CD-ROMs. This exceeds the RAM in many computers.

Which Floppy-disk cartridges store at least 70 times the capacity of the standard floppy?

The portable storage device that holds the least amount of data is the?

The portable storage device that holds the least amount of data currently is the 3. 5 inch floppy diskette with its 1. 44 MB capacity. The almost completely extinct 5. 25 inch floppies used to hold even less data; 360 KB.

Enumerate the capabilities and limitation of computer?

Speed, Reliability, Storage Capacity and ProductivityComputers of all sizes have common characteristics -- speed, reliability, storage capacity, and productivity. Computers are the foundation of business, travel, and leisure life today. Computers provide the processing speed required by all facets of society. The quick service we expect at the bank, at the grocery store, on the stock exchange, and on the Internet are dependent on the speed of computers. Can you imagine our world without computers?Computers are extremely reliable as well. Most errors are caused by humans, not computers. Computers are capable of storing enormous amounts of data that must be located and retrieved very quickly. The capability to store and retrieve volumes of data is at the core of the Information Age.

Is there any storage device having least memory than floppy?

Maybe. Floppies were one of the oldest methods of transferring data. There may have been something older but not available for public use. If not then the answer is no. P.S. does a person with no brains count?

What were home computers like in 1980?

In 1980 computers were still somewhat uncommon, but becoming more and more common in homes. These computers were black screens whith either green or white text on the screen. They had 5.25" floppy drives that if you wanted to run a program you had to use at least one floppy to run it. Many programs had at least 3, some had 10. You would get to a certain point in the program and it would tell you "Please insert disk #." Many people in 1980 learned Basic so they could give the computer direct commands and make their own programs and pictures. If you've seen 8-bit video games you have an idea of what these graphics looked like at that point in time.
