Yes it does.

Unfortunately the iMac does not have any built-in video inputs. A company named Elgato makes something called the eyeTV which can be used to connect video inputs to any Mac, but there is a bit of lag associated with this configuration.
Coaxial
Video is picture and audio is the sound. Home theater receivers have RCA composite or component, S-Video or HDMI for the video input, and RCA analog, Toslink (optical) or coaxial inputs for digital audio.
There is a combined headphone and optical digital audio output (minijack) socket. On the current iMacs it is the first socket on the back.
S-video is a video connection that uses two wires, one for black and white information (The luma signal) and one for color information (the chroma signal). It does not carry audio but S-video inputs and outputs normally have a stereo audio connection associated with them.
I'm not sure what you mean by "HD," but I've owned this receiver for almost two years and here's what it does have - two Optical and one coax digital audio inputs - two component video inputs and one component video output these two features can be classified as HD as component video is rated just about the same as HDMI. The three digital audio inputs can be classifed as HD as well. Just remember that if you want HD quality from either a Set Top Box or a DVD player, you will need one cable for each of the video and audio. There are no HDMI inputs for this receiver. The nice thing about HDMI is that you can get both HD quality audio and video from one cable. I hope this helps
Only if your projector has two inputs, hook up the output video/audio of VCR into the input video/audio of the projector. Radio Shack sells switchers to do this very function.
The system does no video switching, a audio only system, where other systems will switch AUDIO and VIDEO both at the same time.OR if it is a A/V type it means the unit has some inputs that do not have video such as a CD Player. This is normal.
You need to make sure your DVD Audio/Video Out is connected to your TV(LD-3240) Audio/Video IN. Then you will need to flip the video inputs via the AV button on your remote. See page 10. Please make sure your dvd player is on.
A/V option means that there are either inputs or outputs that you can use to for example connect a DV camera to your TV.
