Should you let your phone battery go dead before charging it?

It is wise to let batteries - whether in a cell phone or laptop - to run all the way down from time to time. Continuously charging your phone or computer can cause batteries to swell and lose their ability to hold a charge for long periods of time.

What to do if your presario f700 laptop charge light is blinking?

If the charge light on your Presario F700 laptop is blinking, it usually indicates an issue with the battery or the charging system. Here are some steps you can take to diagnose and potentially fix the problem: **Check the Power Adapter**: Ensure the power adapter is properly plugged into both the laptop and the power outlet. Verify that the power outlet is working by plugging in another device. Inspect the power adapter and cable for any visible damage. *Remove and Reinsert the Battery*: Turn off the laptop and disconnect the power adapter. Remove the battery from the laptop. Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power. Reinsert the battery and reconnect the power adapter. Turn on the laptop and check if the blinking charge light issue persists. *Check Battery Health*: If the laptop powers on, check the battery health status in the operating system. On Windows, you can do this by searching for "Battery Report" or using third-party software to check battery health. *Reset the Laptop*: Sometimes a hardware reset can fix charging issues. To do this, turn off the laptop, remove the battery and power adapter, and then hold the power button for 30 seconds. Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then turn on the laptop. *Test with Another Battery or Charger*: If possible, test the laptop with a different compatible battery or charger to determine if the issue is with the battery, charger, or the laptop itself. *Inspect the Charging Port*: Check the charging port on the laptop for any debris or damage. Clean it carefully if necessary. *BIOS Update*: Sometimes updating the BIOS can resolve hardware compatibility issues, including charging problems. Check the HP support website for any available BIOS updates for your model. *Contact Support or Technician*: If none of the above steps work, there might be a hardware issue with the charging circuit on the motherboard or a faulty battery. Contact HP support or take your laptop to a professional technician for further diagnosis and repair. By following these steps, you can identify and potentially resolve the issue with your laptop's blinking charge light.

Can a car battery recharge itself?

No, a charge must come from an external source. But it's confusing to some people because a battery can be discharged at the surface of the plates and if the battery is left alone for a few minutes some of the charge deep in the plates will distribute across the medium and you may have a little more charge available. A battery is simply a chemical storage device for an electrical charge. The charge initially comes from an outside source, such as an alternator, and as long as the materials inside the battery are in good condition, the battery will continue to take and hold a charge. Once the materials start to break down, the battery fails.

Is it bad for a laptop to leave it plugged in with a fully charged battery?

Previous Answer:Manufacturers used to say that once every week you have to drain the battery, this will extend the lifetime of the battery.Nowadays, no matter what you'll do, after a year you'd be lucky if your battery lasts 30 minutes. My laptop is a year and a half old now and the battery lasts for literally 10 minutes. The point is it's not worth worrying about it.This guy must have a bad battery. Don't listen to him.Once your battery is charged to 100%, the laptop runs off the plugged in power so there is no worry. However, it's a good idea to run your battery to about 20%-40% every few weeks to sort of "exercise" it, as it's still a chemical device.
