No, well not most of the time anyway. Streams are started by a person/company taking audio and video directly from their tv etc. and broadcasting it on the internet. So it would be extremely difficult for a person to get a virus from this. There are some streams though that load up spam on your pc. For example. Sopcast channel 11910. Everytime you load up channels, it loads up spam sites. But overall all MMS/RTSP/HTTP stream are perfectly safe. Hope this helps.
To configure port forwarding on a standalone DVR, first, access the DVR's settings through its menu interface. Navigate to the network settings and note the DVR's local IP address. Then, log in to your router's web interface and locate the port forwarding section. Create a new port forwarding rule by specifying the DVR's IP address, the required ports (typically HTTP port 80 and RTSP port 554), and save the changes to allow external access to your DVR.
Do you want to watch broadcast HDTV on your laptop, or are you wanting to watch archived HDTV shows streaming from a site like NetFlix? To use NetFlix, you don't need any special equipment but you do need to have a good broadband connection that can stream HD content. If you actually want to receive broadcast TV on your PC from an over the air broadcast using an antenna, you might consider a product similar to the TBS 5980 USB TV box with CI slot. This is a simple USB interface that allows you to use your PC as a television.
