Cpu has two basic parts CU Control Unit ALU Arithmetic-Logic Unit control unit works for making decisions,testing results etc ALU performs calculation like Arithmetic (addition,subtraction,multiplication,division) Logical (AND,OR, NOT)

CPU means controlling processing unit, cpu it actually a small chip in the computer. Other parts are the motherboard which handles almost everything, the ram which stores temporary memory, hard drive which stores everything you placed on your computer, disk drive reads cds,dvds etc.
