Yes, you can use Windows Mail in Windows 7 but there are some things you need to do first to get it working. The Windows 7 Windows Mail program file is not active, so Windows Mail will not run from this file. So what you need to do is to delete the Windows Mail program file for Windows 7. And replace it with the Windows Vista Windows Mail program file. The Windows Mail program file in Windows 7 is locked, and if you try to delete the file, Windows won't let you do it. So you need to download Unlocker which unlocks and deletes any program file. Then simply delete the Windows Mail program file using Unlocker and empty the Recycle Bin.Then download and install the Windows Mail program file for Windows Vista.Or if you have a Windows Vista computer you can transfer the Windows Mail program file from your Windows Vista computer to your Windows 7 computer.Once you have got the Windows Mail program file from Windows Vista onto Windows 7,unzip and extract the files to Programs on C drive. And that's it. Windows Mail is installed and will now work on Windows 7.The download links are for Windows Mail. The first link is the Windows Mail zip installer file that will install Windows Mail on Windows 7.The second link is registry key to set Windows Mail as the default program on Windows 7. Windows Mail will then appear in the default programs menu along with your other Windows programs. And the third download link is the registry key to enable the Windows Mail splash screen if it becomes disabled.
The standalone mail readers that come with Windows are Outlook Express, Windows Mail, or Windows Live Mail, depending on the Windows version. The full version of Outlook is common in corporate environments. There are a great many other mail readers available for Windows, and it is also extremely common for people to only access their mail through a web browser with no separate program.
One can access the Windows Live Mail download for free on various websites online. It can be found directly on the Microsoft website but also on third party program sites, such as Cnet.
Many home servers also run e-mail servers that handle e-mail, like windows seven.
In Windows Mail, hold down Ctrl and press F.
Outlook is just Microsoft's email reading/downloading program. You can set it to leave a copy of the messages on the server, and then you can access the server by going to your email provider's website. your email provider is windows live mail, gmail or anything like that. ~artifex~

Yes Windows Mail is available for Windows XP as part of Windows Live.
The current version of Windows 8 is Windows 8 Consumer Preview.Which is the Beta version of Windows 8. Yes,you can install and run Windows Mail for Windows Vista on Windows 8, just like you can on Windows 7. But to get Windows mail working in Windows 8,you must have the dill file Msidcrl30.dill in order for Windows Mail to work on Windows 8. Msidcrl30.dill is included in both Windows Vista and Windows 7 but it is not included in Windows 8. So first you have to install the dill file on Windows 8 in order to get Windows Mail working. To do this you need to go to either your Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer. Then go to your Windows/system 32 folder on C drive. In the Windows/system 32 folder look for a dill file called Msidcrl30.dill. Then copy and paste the dill file into your My Documents or My Downloads folder. And then make a new folder. Copy and paste the dill file into the new folder you have just made. Then right click with your mouse and select, send to zip folder. This creates a zip installer file. Once you have done this you must copy the Msidcrl30.dill dill file onto your Windows 8 computer. And then unzip the file and open the folder, then paste the dill file in Windows/system32 on Windows 8. Then copy the Windows Mail program files found in Programs on C drive onto Windows 8.The same way you copied the dill file. You can copy the files and dill file from your Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer onto your Windows 8 computer.Using a software like Team Viewer which lets you transfer files from one computer to your other computer. Or you can copy the files using a USB thumb drive. And you can also upload your files onto a file sharing site like Mediafire, then you can just download the files onto your computer. This is very useful if you are away from home and you don't have your other computer with you. And if you upload your files to a file sharing site, you will be given a web link. That you can share with your friends so that they can download the program installer files onto their computer. Then unzip the Windows Mail program file to programs on C drive. Windows Mail is now working on Windows 8.and you can set it as the default program just like you can on Windows 7. Or you could just use the mail client built into Windows 8. :)
