There are actually several factors which must be taken into account for this:

1) Accuracy - The data must be accurate. If you were to ask for the price of a house and you are given an incorrect figure, the information is worthless.

2)Relevance - Having information that is irrelevant is actually a disadvantage. It increases the volume of data and this often results in the document taking longer to look at. For example, if you were to ask how far a house was from the centre, to be told how far it is from the nearest bus stop is totally irrelevant.

3)Age - Information can change over time. If the data is from the past it may not be relevant now. If you were to ask for the price of a house, to be given a figure which is actually 6 years old would be useless.

4)Completeness - All the information is required. Data requires a context, structure and meaning for it to be information, so if any of this is missing then the data is useless. For example, if you wanted to view a house but are only given the house number but no road name, or the date of the viewing but not the time, then the information is not worth anything.

5)Presentation - Information must be presented in a way that it may be understood. Presentation can be improved by things like sorting or using a different method of representation, for example a picture or graph rather than plain text. In the context of a house, pictures of a property may make house brochures easier to understand and digest. Brochures also tend to be presented in an organised way (as if you were walking through the house). This consistent presentation makes it much easier to compare properties.

6)Level of Detail - Yo can be given too much or too little information. If you are buying a house, having every alteration and samples of different colour schemes in the house is too much information, but on the other hand, being told how many bedrooms there are but no details, such as the length and width, is too little. It is often difficult to get the correct balance between too much and too little detail.

Hope this helped! :P
