Mp3 music (as all media) must be Imported into WMM (Windows Movie Maker) before it can be added to a project and heard playing.
You can't drag and drop the audio into WMM... All media must be added. If your audio file is actually an .mp3, you should be able to import it for use in your WMM projects.
