If you want your Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation to always show the slideshow whenever opened what you should do is create a Powerpoint Slide Show.
Go to the Slide Show menu, then to Set Up Show and the click on Loop Continuously until Esc in the Show Options.
Assuming you have PowerPoint 2007, Go to the slide show tab and you should be able to find a button that says "set up slide show" click on it. After that there is an option that says "loop continuously until escape"

To start a presentation in Slide Show view from slide 3, open your presentation in PowerPoint, then navigate to the slide you want to start from. Click on the "Slide Show" tab in the ribbon, and select "From Current Slide" (or right-click on slide 3 and choose "Start Slide Show from Current Slide"). Microsoft Word is not for creating slide shows. You can copy slides from slide show applications into Word, but they won't work as a slide show then. You can put links in Word to slide show files.
