To increase the font size on your Nook, go to the home screen and select a book. Once inside the book, tap the center of the screen to bring up the menu. From there, choose the "Aa" icon or "Font" settings, where you can adjust the font size and style to your preference. Save your changes, and the text will appear larger as you read.
The color uses a micro USB cable but the power source at the plug-in side is much larger and more powerful (1.9A for the nook color vs. 850mA for nook vs. 500-650mA for standard USB power). I tried to plug my regular nook charger into my nook color but without the larger plug in power box that comes with the nook color, it will not charge. In B&N customer help books for nook color they say specifically not to use a power source other than one that is made specifically for nook color. I didn't push the issue once I saw my nook color wouldn't show a charging icon when plugged into my regular nook AC source cord.
Fonts with a larger x-height, such as Arial or Verdana, tend to make text appear larger because they have taller lowercase letters, making them more readable at smaller sizes. Additionally, sans-serif fonts generally look larger and more open than serif fonts. Bold typefaces can also enhance the perception of size. Ultimately, the overall design, spacing, and weight of the font can influence how large the text appears.
On a Mac, fonts are primarily stored in the Fonts folder located within the Library directory, specifically at /Library/Fonts, ~/Library/Fonts for user-specific fonts, and /System/Library/Fonts for system fonts. In Windows 95/98, fonts are typically found in the C:\Windows\Fonts directory. Both operating systems allow users to install additional fonts that can be accessed by applications.
There is no Nook 2 or Nook Lite coming up. There is a Nook Color, which I think has decreased the price of the Nook. But you can check in the Barnes and Nobles website.
