buy a floppy disk drive idiot.
Because they are actually floppy disks of magnetic film. They don't seem floppy when you handle them because they're housed in a rigid plastic case that lets you slide them into your computer. That is if you still have a floppy drive on your computer.
It depends...when you see a hot girl... Your floppy disk might turn into a hard drive which is really big, but then it depends :)
When prompted to format the floppy disk, click NO. Especially if the disk has files that you wish to access. Formatting the disk erases EVERYTHING on the disk and starts the disk anew.
you need to "write protect" your floppy disk.if you turn the floppy disk over you will see a little tab on the lower right hand corner, push this tab down until you can see the hole through it.your disk is now write protected and cannot be overwritten.
It is checking to see if a bootable disk (i.e. windows startup disk) is inserted. Obviously, if it didn't check + your computer didn't work then you wouldn't be able to use your startup disk.
See the related links below:
To do this you need to go to boot menu . It depends on configuration of your computer .There are 4 ways to go to boot menu 'f2','del','f8','f12'. press these buttons before your computer start booting with hard disk. then you will see a blue (most probably if you are using INTEL) then go to boot option and select CD drive or floppy drive as first boot device and then save changes and then restart the computer. That is all enjoy.
A computer tech store should be able to help load the pictures off of a floppy disc. After the pictures have been uploaded to the computer and reloaded on a CD the pictures can be print anywhere that prints pictures.
While booting, a computer looks at a number of available disks (floppies, CDs, harddisks) to see if they contain a bootable operating system. Older PCs would always boot from the harddisk, unless a floppy was present, and if that floppy didn't contain an operating system (like DOS), it would give this error message so you could remove the floppy and the computer could go on booting from the harddisk.
Otherwise known as a Floppy Disk. They were very popular before USB Flash Drives. Even while CD's existed, Floppy Disks were great because you could quickly and easily save any data you may have to a Floppy Disk. They didn't have much space on them, but they could save a good amount of documents on them. They weren't too reliable because it was like saving to a tape. They could break fairly easily. In terms of the actual drive, that would be in virtually every computer near the CD Drive and it would accept only the Floppy Disk. It was quite similar to a VCR (if you know what that is) where the eject button would physically kick the disk out of the drive (not a button per se). To access the disk, one would click My Computer on the PC and they should see an option for the drive, if one is connected to the machine.
Turn the floppy disk so that the metal ring with the two holes is facing you, and the metal shutter is pointed towards the floor. Look at the top left corner. You will see a plastic tab. When the tab is open (creating two holes at the top of the disk), the disk is write-protected. When the tab is closed, the disk can be written to.
It means a bad spot was detected on the floppy when your computer tried to write or read data from the disk. Most of the time, the drive head that reads the data has become dirty, but sometimes there is physical damage. Rotate the disk in the sleeve. If you see scratches, dents, or folds on the surface, the disk is no good. There is a floppy disk cleaning kit that can be used to clean the head. They have a white fibre disk in the floppy, instead of the plastic disk with brown magnetic coating. To use a cleaning kit. Put a squirt of the head cleaning solution in the slot on the cleaning disk, insert it, and access the disk a couple of times (i.e. use the DIR command at the dos prompt). If you have no head cleaning solution, use rubbing alcohol. Don't saturate the disk, just make a wet spot. The disk will wipe the head wet/dry as it rotates. It is possible to mark bad sectors and do data recovery on a floppy if necessary, but it requires an old copy of the Norton Utilities and some know how to do it. Good luck.
