How do I recover a deleted Word Doc?

OpenOffice will recover unsaved documents in the event the computer was switched off without saving the file. When you re-start the package, a dialog box opens telling you there is an un-recovered document(s) - It will recover the documents so you can save them.

Check the Recycle Bin or Trash (for Mac users). Usually when you deleted a word file or files, they will go to the Recycle Bin or Trash. If they are there, simple highlight them and click Restore or Put Back option to get them back to where they are.

A word document can be recovered by several ways.

1. If you have deleted your word document from your computer drive then restore it from 'recycle bin'. Your deleted document is there.
2. If you have used 'shift+delete' key to delete your document then try to restore it from backup.
3. If you can see your document but unable to open it that means your document has been corrupt. Try to repair it with 'open & repair' option.
4. If all above fail to recover your document then try to repair it with the help of 3rd party tool.

Long story short, I had two word documents saved onto my desktop about a year ago. However, I realized that I didn't need one and I ended up deleting it... Now two semester later I'm smacking myself on the head because I've realized that I actually deleted the wrong Doc! Is there any way in hell that I can recover this thing?

I've already went to "search this PC" and my document was no where do be found. -_-
