How do i unlock Dell D630 Laptop bios password?

A. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:

In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method.

Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.

When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.

Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper.

B. By Using Software:

You can call Dell's customer service for an unlock code. You can also try using the word dell as a back door password or you can remove the battery on the motherboard. Removing the battery would require disassembling the laptop.

If you do not know the password, you have a few choices.

You can:

A) Contact the laptop manufacturer tech support and they will give you the backdoor password after positively establishing ownership of the machine. This means that they will go from who bought it from them, to who bought it next and so on to you. If at any point it comes up that the laptop was not acquired through legit channels, they will tell you to pound sand. Also, there is a $150 to $250 fee for this service.

B) Next option is to track down the blog of a guy named Dogber1. If your laptop Service Tag ID at the password prompt looks like xxxxxxx-595B or xxxxxxx-2A7B he generously created a utility that can generate the backdoor override password to get you into the machine.

C) You can pay one of a multiple of sites who have taken Mr. Dogber1's application and charge obscene fees to do the same service that he provides for free.

D) Chuck the laptop and buy a new one. I HIGHLY recommend options A and B.

PS: BIOS password in laptops cannot be reset by disconnecting the CMOS or Laptop battery. The password information is stored in a Non-Volatile EEPROM chip that will store the password long after the person who set it is dead and gone.

by system im assuming you mean the operating system password. to do that you have to have the OS install disk and do a repair or fresh install. to reset the bios password locate the cmos battery and take it out for a few hours with the computer unplugged and the computer battery out.
