Normally if it is an image file, I will right click on it and choose "copy". I then open Windows mspaint and copy the image in it.
I will also use the "print screen/PrtSc" button on my key board to get the image I want into clipboard.
If I need images from other formats, i.e the whole image of a PDF page, I will get the page image using AXPDF to JPG converter for a better keeping solution of the texts and image. I then will copy the image into clipboard.
