Well to catch rat man you must do a few things

1) you must leave a wheel of Cheddar Cheese out. You must do this for 1 week to 10 days.

2) you must let your self be seen by rat man for 2-3 nights.

3) once you have established your self as not posing a threat you can go meet rat man.

4) once you have gained his trust you turn on him and trap him in a giant net.

5) after you have trapped him you have to beat him in the head with a hard surface.

6) Ad lib the rest

depending on where you live you can buy rat traps from the hardware store. These traps are like a wire cage with a trip mechanism. Place some food in the cage, the rat enters setting of the trip and the door closes trapping him inside. Then depending on your attitude with these guys either release it elsewhere or put the trap in a bucket of water.

or just put cheese in your mouth when you sleep and the rats will wake you up when they eat it

If you know about where they are, put a box near where you suspect they are that is tall enough that they can't get out of. Have a ramp set up so that they can get in. Put something really smelly in it so that they'll be attracted to it, such as tuna. Or, you can buy the havahart trap, and put tuna in it. There are predators that can catch rats for you, cats, or certain breeds of dogs, or owls. Other than that, there are a variety of traps, but it has to be one or the other, traps or predators. If you just want to kill them rather than catch them, you can leave out poisoned bait. Yo could also use a glue pad.
