P/N 1-653163(44/48) 1-653416(52)

PAGE 13, ITEM 48 IN LAZER HP 220,000 & HIGHER PARTS MANUAL

PAGE 11, ITEM 48 IN LAZER HP 160,000 & HIGHER PARTS MANUAL

TOOLS REQUIRED: ½", 9/16" Box/Open End Wrenches

3/8" Ratchet with ½" and 9/16" Sockets

1. Remove the ignition key, engage the brake, and drop the deck to its lowest setting.

2. Remove the deck drive belt from around the clutch. Place the belt between the deck and the drive wheel to keep it out of the way. See Figure 2, Reference #3.

3. Disconnect the clutch from the connector.

4. Remove the clutch strap from the engine deck. See Figure 1, Reference #1.

5. Push on the edge of the pump idler to take up the spring pressure, and then remove the pump belt from the sheaves. See arrow Figure 1.

6. Loosen the idler arm bolt enough to slide the belt over the pulley. Hold the nyloc nut on top of the engine deck by reaching up between the engine deck and the cutting deck with a 9/16" box end wrench. To ease reassembly, leave wrench on the nut when done. See Figure 1, Reference #2.

7. Install and route the new belt, leaving it off of one of the pump pulleys. See Figure 2.

8. Before tightening the idler arm bolt, ensure that the idler spring is not sitting on top of the right pump sheave as seen in Figure 2. Place the spring so it sets in the groove of the pulley where the belt runs.

9. Push on the edge of the idler arm to take up the spring pressure while routing the pump belt around the remaining pump pulley. Slowly release the idler, and ensure that the belt has remained in place around the other sheaves.

10. Reassemble in reverse order starting at step 4.
