Most laptops are the same with a common operating system. Right click (right mouse button) on the desktop and select "properties". A window should open saying "Display Properties". Find the tab called "desktop" and click on it. You should now have a list of pictures (They will appear as a list with names) You can scroll through them and select one you like or click "browse" to choose a picture of you're s. If the picture on you're desktop is in a "tile" form or is in some kind of "frame" you can change the layout in the "position" drop down box next to the background list.
I did this with a Windows XP service pack 3 laptop. Some variations are expected on some versions.
If you want to get a picture of a laptop and notebook, go to Google.com and click images. Then type "laptop and notebook."
A laptop and notebook are the same thing. A notebook is smaller than a laptop but they both do the same thing.
