1. Open the Windows registry editor by clicking "Start" button. Then, click "Run", and type "REGEDIT".
2. In the registry, open the following folders. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard\ Search within the keyboard folder for a string value named "InitialKeyboardIndicators" with a value of 0, 1, or 2. Change the value to 2, and you're done. (0 = Num Lock is turned OFF after the logon.
1 = Disable Num Lock.
2 = Numlock is turned ON after the logon.)

To switch off the Num Lock, simply look for the Num lock key on your computer's keyboard, and make sure it is set t off. (You can do this by pressing the key and then trying to type on the number pad on the right-hand side of your keyboard; if it's on, those keys won't work).

You're done!

on the top right corner of your keyboard there are 3 led which glows on the 'ON' of few buttons like the first one is for num lock, second one is for caps lock and 3rd one is for scroll lock
