It is a very simple task to disable VAIO Content Sharing collection. All you have to do is go to your start menu, click on the control panel, and then click on the VAIO icon. There should then be sharing options that you can disable.

The window used to configure network discovery and file sharing settings is called "Network and Sharing Center." You can access it through the Control Panel or by right-clicking the network icon in the system tray. Within this window, you can enable or disable network discovery, file sharing, and manage your network settings.
Start->Control Panel->Network Connections->Local Area Connection (Wireless Connection if you have any), right click->Properties, in the "This connection uses the following items" locate and left click "File and Printer Sharing...". Uncheck it. Hit ok. You might have to restart the system before it starts to work. Also it's recommended to disable file sharing in the windows firewall settings.
Disable Simple file sharing by going to "My Computer > Tools > Folder options" then click the "View" tab, scroll down to the bottom option and un-tick "Use Simple File Sharing (Recommended)" To share a folder, right click the folder and select "Properties" and then the "Sharing" tab. Make sure to select the correct permissions. You can also share printer in much the same way. Two thing to watch for, are the username and passwords must exist and be the same on all computers, and WindowsXP can only have eight connections to it at one time.
