How do you do alt codes on a laptop?

You do the Alt codes by holding down the Alt button while pressing up to five numbers on the number pad then letting go of the Alt button. If it doesn't work on a laptop, ask your parents or a friend that has the Survey, Tech Lab.

To do alt codes on a laptop you have to press Fn and alt and look on the letter keys and use the blue numbers there for the number you want to use. then you just do it like normal. hope this helped.

Open up "character map". Have it copy-paste the special characters.

(Assuming you mean the alt + numpad characters)

Most laptops have the numbers above the qwerty keyboard.

Type the code for the character and then press 'Alt' 'x' together.
