How do you download photos to the computer from a flash drive?

plug the flash drive into a USB port on your computer. then open up my computer, and you should see an icon that says something along the lines of USB Drive. click on that, and the contents of the flash drive should appear on the screen. open up the file you want and save it to your computer. Here is step by step instructions on how to do it.

1. Make sure the flash drive is plugged into your usb port on your CPU.

2. Click the start button at the bottom left hand corner and go to My Documents.

3. You know how when you enter a web address in the bar at the top of the internet? Well there should be something that looks just like it at the top of My Documents and there should be an arrow pointing down at the end of it. Click it, some options should pop down.

4. Find your flash drive. It will show up as removable disk.

5. It will show you everything on the removable disk.

6. Find the pictures you want on your computer.

• Plug the drive into your computer.
• Goto 'My Computer' to see the list of drives
• Identify the flash drive you have just plugged in and double click on it, to open.
• Leave that window open and navigate to the location where you want to copy the file.
• Click on the file to copy, keep holding the left mouse button down and drag it across to the window where you want it to be copied.
• Check that a '+' symbol appears on the icon as you drag it.
• Let go of the mouse button when you have arrived at the corect window.
• This will make a copy.
• To move the file, (ie, erase the the original) hold the 'shift' key down. The '+' symbol should disappear. When you let go of the left mouse button the file will be transferred instead of copied.
• For reliability, if you are not sure, it is better to copy first and go and delete the original separately.

Another way is to use the right click on the file and either copy or move.

navigate to the new location and use right click to select 'paste' to copy to the new location.
