Dear President and CEO of Gol Airlines,

As a passenger of Gol who faced a big problem with your staff at GIG, I badly need your help. Kindly spend a few minutes to read my below message and please assist me with this.

  • There was an accident on the road in Rio on 5 Oct '12. I was stuck 2 hours in the traffic from hotel - GIG Airport and saw a lot of ambulances on the way. This caused me to arrive at the airport late, just a few minutes after your check-in counter was closed.
  • I explained the situation to your staff at GIG, told them it's an accident, and asked them to please allow me to check in as I need to connect my flight in Sao Paolo and again in Frankfurt on the same day.
  • Most of your staff couldn't speak English, asked me to wait in long queue, but finally a staff who could speak English, named Ms. Alessandra, talked to me.
  • Ms. Alessandra asked me to buy another ticket from another airline to fly from Rio - Sao Paolo to catch my Frankfurt flight. She said the staff in charge of check in did not allow me to go in, and her next flight would be too late for my flight connection in Sao Paolo.
  • Ms. Alessandra also confirmed to me that she would process the full refund of my ticket for me afterwards (without any penalty) as she fully understood my situation that it was an accident!
  • That's why I mentioned all these details in my first claim and hope that the company will be responsible for what your staff (Ms. Alessandra) has confirmed to me. But I was so upset that the company refused the responsibility totally
  • Now I am writing to seek your help to please refund me the full amount, as per what Ms. Alessandra confirmed to me on 5 Oct.
  • If the company refused to pay me back the money, I regret I will have to share this terrible experience with all the travel websites, travel magazines, media, and inform your embassy about this.
  • Eventhough the amount is not big, it made me feel very bad with Gol Airlines. Gol is not holding the responsibility of what your staff has confirmed to your passenger. Gol is trying to cheat the passenger even with this very small amount.
  • The amount I paid to Gol on my ticket is just R$ 313.40. I don't think it is worth ruining your trust and reputation. I will close my claim without any bad impression if I get my full refund.
  • My reservation code (locator) is BYYVMM and it's for 2 persons: Ms. Somboon Kidviphat and Mr. Mingmitr Roongwatanayothin. Receipt number is 127 00188881138 and 127 00188881139.
