Select it and press the delete or backspace for a regular underscore. If you mean the short one that is at the end of the document on the left that you cannot select, that is only there to show you where the document actually ends and will not appear when you print. It is there to assist you. Sometimes if it gets pushed too far ahead it will move into a new page and you will get a blank page when you print. It is there so people know exactly where a document ends, which isn't always at the last piece of text, as there can be additional space at the end.
It could also be a border that you have not turned off. Select it and go to borders and shading and you can turn it off there.
