Well first off you need a pen drive that has enough space to hold the entire install disk then you will need to set your bios to boot from whatever drive letter your pen drive will be plugged into. Double click on your my computer icon with your pen drive plugged in and check the drive letter it was assigned, that will be the letter you will have to change your boot up drive to in your bios. I would be sure to keep your CD drive as at least the second boot up drive just in case you run into any other problems.
I have personally never tried this and wouldn't recommend it because I am concerned that when you wipe the hard drive to install the new operating system you will most likely lose the driver that controls your usb ports and the pen drive wont work.
If at all possible i would use the CD to install your operating system!
