Cat 5 or CAT 6 cable is not the right cable to use for VGA. The electrical characteristics are not compatible with VGA signals and on a long run there will be noticeable image degradation. For short runs up to around 2 metres or 6 feet, it will probably work just fine. The cable should be a screened one rather than basic UTP. All connections will link the same pin number at both ends.
Pin 1 and pin 6 use one pair
Pin 2 and pin 7 use a second pair
Pin 3 and pin 8 use the third pair
Pin 10 will have the screen attached
Pin 13 and pin 14 use the fourth pair.
This will carry all of the signals for the image itself but it does not connect any data lines that assist in identifying the monitor type.
For longer runs, CAT 5 can be used but converters will be required at each end of the CAT 5 cable. The converters adapt the signal to conform to the electrical characteristics of the cable and runs of up to 300 feet are possible, depending on the specification of the converter.
No, a VGA cable does not carry audio. You will need a converter that has an audio input to add the sound channel to the VGA picture channel.
Yes it will accept any VGA cables that are basic VGA form without using an adapter.
It is impossible to convert S-Video to VGA by using a cable. However, an S-Video to VGA converter adapter can be purchased which contains an S-Video input and VGA output.
See if you have only VGA port on the ASUS Monitor then you need to plugin the VGA part of HDMI to VGA in Asus Monitor and then plug the other part that is HDMI in your Macbook pro. There might be a problem with you that both Asus monitor and the HDMI to VGA cable have same VGA Plugs,Like both of them are female VGA or both of them are Male VGA hence they cannot be connected together. For that problem you need to have one more cable of the opposite character to that of your HDMI to VGA and your monitor's VGA port to establish a connection between the Monitor and Macbook pro using the cable you already have. Like if you have female VGA on your monitor and on your existing cable then you need to buy male to male VGA and vice versa you have to buy female to female VGA for male ports on monitor and cable you already have. If you feel that there is some other problem than that then you can message me directly and i will guide you accordingly.
No, a vga cable is not needed for the xbox 360. However if you would like to hook you xbox 360 to a computer monitor then you would want a vga cable.
Yes, generally speaking VGA cables were designed to be used with computers/ laptops. You will still need to check to make sure your laptop has a VGA output.
Yes, you can use an SVGA cable in place of a VGA cable, as SVGA is essentially an enhanced version of VGA. Both cables use the same 15-pin connector, so they are compatible. However, SVGA cables can support higher resolutions and better video quality compared to standard VGA cables. Therefore, while they are interchangeable, using an SVGA cable might provide a better visual experience, especially at higher resolutions.
Any Tv but its best with HDMI or using a VGA cable for a monitor
There are a couple ways to connect VGA to HDMI, the easiest are either using a converter or a cable. What you choose should depend on your needs. A converter is a box that allows you to connect your VGA component and your HDMI component into a box and converts the signal. The cable connects on one end to your VGA component and the other end connects to your HDMI component and can vary in length.
