1 Download and install Alcohol 120 at Alcohol-soft.com. Alcohol 120 provides an easy way of creating an image of your Windows XP disc.

2 Insert the Windows XP install disc into your computer's CD drive and open Alcohol 120.

3 Select "Image Making Wizard."

4 Select the CD drive from the drop-down list. Click "Next."

5 Enter a name for the file and save the file to your desktop. Select "ISO" as the format for the image file and click "Start" to begin creating the image.

6 Download and install the WinToFlash utility at Wintoflash.com. WinToFlash makes it easy to create a bootable USB flash drive from an image file. It is meant specifically for creating Windows boot drives.

7 Insert the USB flash drive into your computer. Open WinToFlash.

8 Set the file system to "Fat32." Set the format to "USB-HDD" and set the USB drive type to "Flash Stick."

9 Browse for the Windows XP ISO located on your desktop (created by Alcohol 120) by selecting "Windows Source Path."

Select the inserted USB flash drive by selecting "USB Drive" and click "Run." Once complete, exit the utility and remove the bootable Windows XP USB drive.
