I have seen programs that allow you to map controller buttons to keyboard keys but I would like to do the opposite, ie. make a keyboard act as a USB controller, allowing me to map in game functions to the keys without it mapping as "A" key but instead as "BTN 1" or something similar.
Preferably would like to do this with a numpad so I can make a custom controller without the buttons on it registering as the numpad keys.

To set your controls on Nemu64, open the emulator and go to "Options" -> "Configure controller plugin" -> "Input" tab. From there, you can map your controller buttons by selecting the button on the emulator interface and then pressing the corresponding button on your controller. Make sure to save your settings before exiting.

However, users can connect it to a PC using third-party adapters or software that can map the controller's inputs to PC-compatible formats. Keep in mind that compatibility may vary depending on the specific adapter and the games or applications being used.

Yes, you can play Garry's Mod with an Xbox controller, but it requires some configuration. The game doesn't natively support controller input, so you'll need to use third-party software like Steam Big Picture mode or an external program like x360ce to map the controller buttons to keyboard and mouse functions. Once set up, you can enjoy the game using the controller, though keyboard and mouse may offer more precise control for certain gameplay elements.
