In many cases, there is a small (about 1mm in diameter) hole right under the tray - you can insert a pin (or a similar slim, long and straight object - like a straightened-out paper clip) into it to forcefully release the disc tray.

We get the E27:00 error a couple of times a year on our 5 DVD changer. It's annoying as you can't even get the DVD player to open the tray. Usually this is an 'easy' fix. The error usually means one of our DVDs has slipped out of the changer tray and is free floating inside of the player. Unplug the DVD, take the case off, remove the offending DVD, put case back on, reconnect and voila. That takes care of it for us. Hope this helps/JRW
