How do you reset an Acer Aspire 9410 to factory settings?

shut off your computer. restart it, tapping the f12 key. it should load up a wizard to take you through the steps.

if not, restart press f1 or f2 (which ever is your setup) and go over until you see a "enable f12 multiboot on start up" (or something like that) and click enter over it and switch it to enable. then press f10 to save and exit. once again restart your computer, press f12 at start up and go through the wizard

You can use the acer backup utility.

If you can, then boot to windows and let it set up. Then press Alt F10 keys together.

Follow the instructions.

If the O/S is dead. You may be able to access the hidden sector of the drive and reset from there.

Switch on the computer and while it is booting keep pressing Alt F10 together.

It will enter the recovery program.

You may need to set the BIOS to enable 'D2D' Disc to Disc recovery.

In this case boot to BIOS by pressing F2 while it starts. In bios go to the general tab and see that D2D is enabled.

Reboot and repeat the Alt F10 process.

You can check if your drive has the recovery partition by inspecting it in, Control, Panel, admin tools, computer management, disk management. You will see a non bootable area, reserved for recovery.
